Kimberly Sanders is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist practicing in the Sacramento/Auburn area since 2001. She has been actively counseling individuals, couples and children since 1990. While working at U.C.L.A.’s Neuropsychiatric Institute, Alcohol Research Center, she gained extensive experience in working with addiction and trauma issues. She continues to specialize in treating survivors of long and short-term trauma as well as working with those navigating life’s transitions and women’s issues. In May 2016 Kimberly began her training and certification in Image Transformation Therapy (ImTT). ImTT is a new and more highly effective treatment for anxiety, depression and trauma. In 1996, Kimberly also received specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), one of the leading treatments for anxiety and trauma. She is a certified EMDR practitioner and has treated many people coping with stress, anxiety and trauma. In addition to her background in the counseling profession, Kimberly has traveled extensively working with children and families in countries such as India, Ethiopia, and Egypt. This life experience ultimately led her to the work she does today. Kimberly’s gracious and professional manner adds to her knowledge and experience to create a safe and caring environment for your counseling needs.
